Children and Youth Services

The Children & Youth Services (CAYS) Division of Therapy Focus provides professional therapy services to almost 2,500 children across Western Australia each year. Our team of qualified therapists work with a range of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Intellectual Disability - delivering therapy in the home, in Catholic, Independent and Government schools, and in community settings.

Our Therapy Services

Our qualified therapists work with families, teachers, carers and the community to build on each child's unique skills and abilities, helping them reach their full potential.

Children who meet our Eligibility Criteria can access the following Early Intervention Services (for children aged 0 - 5) or School-Age Services (for children aged 6 - 18):

Our Principles of Practice

We are guided by a set of five principles to ensure we deliver high quality therapy services:

Family-Centred Practice
Family is central to children's therapy. Families bring knowledge and expertise to help us identify their child's needs and develop goals and strategies for every day life.

Working Together
We work with families, teachers, therapists, medical practitioners and other organisations for a synergy of ideas, resources and therapy services.

Learning Everywhere
Therapy is most effective when it is conducted in a child's natural environment. We use every opportunity in families' and children's' routines and environment to develop skills.

Working Transdisciplinary
Our Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists work as a team, sharing their strategies to meet the needs of our clients.

Increase Participation
Our therapy practice builds on a child's individual skills to increase participation in everyday activities.
